Olden and Bedard Earn Weekly OVC Honors

For the first time this season Taylor Olden has been named Offensive Player of the Week. Sam Bedard received her fourth Setter of the Week award.The Murray State volleyball team swept both Jacksonville State and then Tennessee Tech this weekend at Racer Arena.
Olden matched her season high 19 kills against JSU to go along with seven digs and one service ace. Against Tennessee Tech she turned in 12 kills with only one error. Hit .524 against Tennessee Tech. Added four digs and one service ace against the Golden Eagles. She had 31 total kills with 5.17 kills per set average. She averaged 5.67 points per set.
Against Jacksonville State, Bedard dished out 43 assists and a match-high 14 digs go along with 3 kills and one service ace. She helped the team by hitting 1.000 over the weekend, while the team hit .279 against JSU. The following day, Bedard turned in 45 assists to go along with her one dig, one service ace and two kills. She helped the team hit .545 which now stands as a new team kill percentage for three set matches.
The Racers take the court on Friday against UT Martin at Martin, Tennessee.Â
