Rifle Takes Aim at NCAA Qualifier

MSU will host both the regional qualifier this weekend and the NCAA Championships March 14-15. OVC schools Columbus State, Jacksonville State and UT Martin, along with West Virginia, Memphis and Nebraska will all be in Murray for the qualifier.
Last season the Racers finished fourth in the qualifier, also held in Murray, and failed to make the NCAA Tournament.
MSU has finished second in the OVC Championships and defeated Ole Miss in a dual match the last two weekends.
Of the teams travelling to Murray this weekend, West Virginia is ranked No. 1 in the nation. Nebraska and JSU are also ranked in the top five nationally at No. 4 and 5 respectively, while Memphis slides in right behind them at No. 6.
The match will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range. The first relay will be held at 8 a.m. with the second getting started at 1 p.m. on both days.Â
