The Murray State women's basketball team will honor senior player Jessica Winfrey and senior manager Thomas Pool Monday when it hosts Morehead State for senior night at The Bank. With just two games left in the 2013-14 season, the game will also serve as MSU's home finale.
The Racers saw their post-season hopes disappear Saturday when they ran into a red-hot UT Martin team, falling 84-67 at the Elam Center in Martin. The Skyhawks started the game hot, scoring 14 unanswered points to begin the game and never looked back. UT Martin did not allow Murray State to score until the 16:01 mark and held the Racers to 24.2 shooting in the opening frame. UT Martin finished the frame shooting an astounding 48.7 percent from the floor and took a 49-25 lead into the locker room at the break.
In the second, it was more of the same from UT Martin as they finished the game shooting 40.3 percent and led by as many 36 in the frame. The Racers did what they could, even shooting 54.2 percent in the bottom frame, but it was not enough as they fell, 84-67.
Taylor Porter led Murray State in the contest with 14 points, while Bianca Babic and Netanya Jackson followed with 13 and 10, respectively. Jessica Winfrey once again led Murray State on the boards with 11, to go along with eight points.

Monday will be the 89th meeting between Murray State and Morehead State with the Eagles leading 41-37. However, the Racers have fared better on their home court where they lead the series, 21-15, despite having lost the last two at the CFSB Center. In their last meeting, the Racers went into Johnson Arena in Morehead looking to keep their post-season hopes alive and they walked out with a 56-48 win.

The Eagles are coming off of a 45-43 win at Jacksonville State on Monday that snapped a three-game losing streak and moved them to 11-15 overall and 5-8 in the OVC. Almesha Jones led the Eagles on the night with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Mackenzie Arledge followed with 13 and six.
Terrice Robinson currently averages 17.5 points per game to lead Morehead State, while Robinson follows with 13.4 Arledge is currently the team's leading rebounder at 4.8 game with Jones just behind at 4.4.
The Eagles are averaging 63.3 points per game, while giving up 67.7. On the boards, Morehead State is being outrebounded by a hefty 39.8-33.2 margin. On the season, the Eagles are shooting 38.4 percent from the floor, 30.5 from 3-point range and 70.8 from the free throw line.
