Racers Top Belmont & Austin Peay

RESULTS
The Murray State women's golf team competed in a tri-match this afternoon versus fellow OVC competitors Belmont and Austin Peay. After one round of 18-holes, the Racers came out on top with an overall team score of 319. The three teams played at the Highlands Golf Course in Huntsville, Ala.
Belmont trailed the Racers with a team score of 326 while Austin Peay rounded out the field with a team score of 333.
Delaney Howson won her sixth medalist honor as a Racer with her score 76 to top the field of 18 competitors. Also placing in the top-5, freshmen Sydney Trimble and Jacklyn Van Meter each swung a round score of 80 to tie for third place. Abbi Stamper fired a round of 83 for eight place while Sophie Hillier rounded out team play for the Racers in 10th place with a score of 84. In individual play, Minta Yin carded a score of 91 to tie for 16th place.
The Highlands Gold Course played to a par of 72 and 6,046 yards.
The Racers will continue play this weekend at the Dalhousie Golf Course in Cape Girardeau, Mo., in a dual against Southern Illinois.
