Lollar Unveils 2014-15 Rifle Schedule

2014-15 Rifle Schedule
Murray State rifle head coach Alan Lollar has announced his team's 2014-15 schedule. The slate is comprised of 12 dates total with four of those taking place in Murray at the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range.
"We are excited about this year's schedule, as it is highlighted with what may be our first ever trip to Nebraska," said Lollar. "Coach [Stacy] Underwood has them shooting well and they will be a challenge."
The day before the Racers take on the Huskers in Lincoln on Oct. 11, they will meet regional foe Ole Miss, also in Lincoln, on Oct. 10. MSU will kick off its 2014-15 campaign on Sept. 28 when it travels to OVC rival UT Martin.
On Oct. 25, the Racers will host their first of four home events on the season when it welcomes Jacksonville State and TCU for the first of two tri-matches. The final home tri-match of the year will take place on Jan. 11 against two OVC opponents in UT Martin and Columbus State. On Jan. 24, Murray State will hold its annual Withrow Invitational, followed by an NCAA qualifier on Feb. 21.
Other dates this season include the Ole Miss Invitational in Oxford on Oct. 3 and Kentucky and Army in Lexington, on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, respectively. On Jan. 17, the Racers will travel to Fort Benning, Georgia to take on Columbus State, followed by a trip to Jacksonville State on Jan. 18.
The 2014 OVC Championship will take place on Feb. 7 in Jacksonville, Alabama, while the NCAA Championship will take place on March 13 and 14 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Murray State will be led this season by lone senior and 2013 NRA Collegiate All-American, Kelsey Emme. The Piedmont, South Dakota native qualified for the NCAA Championships in both the air rifle and smallbore disciplines last season, marking her second appearance in three years at the event. Â
