Rifle Moves Up To Fourth In Latest Poll

After a weekend that saw two school records fall, the Murray State rifle team moved from fifth to fourth in the latest Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association poll, released by the organization Monday.
The Racers shot a new school record of 2341 in smallbore and finished the day with another school record in of 4693 for their overall score. Murray State was edged by Kentucky in the match, which shot a 4702 to move into third.
This weekend, MSU will return to Pat Spurgin Rifle Range for another tough challenge against a pair of ranked OVC foes. On Saturday, the Racers will welcome No. 15 Jacksonville State and No. 18 Morehead State for their first tri-match of the season.
