Murray State head volleyball coach David Schwepker has announced the signings of three student-athletes who will be joining the Racers next fall.
"After not bringing in a single player for the class of 2015, I knew my 2016 class had to be really strong," said Schwepker.
"Well, that is exactly what this class is. Not only is this a very athletic, skilled and highly accomplished group of athletes, they all carry a GPA of over 3.5 and have very high ACT scores. They will be great in the classroom as well as on the volleyball court."
Megan Lindsay, 5-11, Outside Hitter, Mascoutah, Ill., Mascoutah HS
Lindsay holds the career record at Mascoutah High School with over 900 kills and the single-season mark of 298. Lindsay is a three-time all-conference selection, was all-state in 2013 and an all-area honoree the last two seasons. Lindsay has helped lead the Indians to three consecutive regional titles, and this season led Mascoutah to its first-ever Illinois State Volleyball Tournament. Lindsay is also an honor roll student and has served on the student council her junior and senior years.
"Megan is the complete player," said Schwepker.
"She can pass and hit. She has played middle and outside, so she will be very versatile in our program. While recruiting her, I saw her run through and over the spectator chairs to save a ball, twice! Everyone knows I love this diehard attitude and Megan is that type of player. She is going to be a great addition to this program."

Rachel Giustino, 5-10, Outside Hitter, Algonquin, Ill., Marian Central Catholic HS
Giustino is a two-time unanimous All-East Suburban Catholic Conference selection and is also a two-time all-area team honoree. Giustino holds the Marian Central record for single-season kills with 320 in 2014 and has 316 this season, with more matches to be played. Giustino has helped lead the Hurricanes to four straight regional titles and three consecutive sectional championships. This season, Marian Central was the super-sectional champions and is in the IHSA State Semifinals. For her career, Giustino has 833 kills (school record), 588 digs, 169 total blocks and 58 service aces. Giustino is also a two-time ESCC All-Academic honoree and is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society.
"Rachel is the prototypical type of player for our program," said Schwepker.
"She can flat-out fly and hits the ball extremely hard. She is an undersized player that is going to make a big impact in the world of volleyball. People have always told me you can't win with these shorter players, but my players have proved them wrong. Rachel is just this type of player that will continue to make our program strong."

Courtney Radle, 5-10, Setter, St. Louis, Mo., Francis Howell HS
Radle was a First Team All-State selection this season for the Vikings of Francis Howell and is a three-time all-conference performer. Radle has been named First Team All-District the past two seasons and was also a First-Team All-Region honoree this year. Radle was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection and is also Cum Laude as a student. Radle also participates in track and field for Francis Howell.
"Courtney is going to be a great addition to our program," said Schwepker.
"She has great athleticism, is extremely focused and very skilled. She has spent most of her life being an outside hitter, in fact she was named First Team All-State in Missouri as a hitter and back row player this year, but the great thing is that we plan on turning her into an outstanding setter. "She sets and hits with her club team and I believe her biggest potential lies in her setting. It will be exciting to see what all Courtney will be able to do for this program."
