MSU Travels to Face Lady Bisons

Murray State looks to snap its two-game losing streak Tuesday night as the Racers travel to Nashville, Tenn., and a matchup with the Lipscomb Lady Bisons. MSU has won five straight in the series against LU and is 3-0 under Head Coach Rob Cross.
Tuesday will be the first of back-to-back road contests for the Racers as they will travel to Central Arkansas Saturday. MSU is coming off a 61-51 loss Saturday at the CFSB Center to the Sugar Bears, where they were out-rebounded 48-27 and gave up 13 more second-chance points in the loss. Ke'Shunan James led the Racers with 14 points while LeAsia Wright had a career-high seven steals including one on three consecutive possessions.
In the most recent meeting with the Lady Bison, Murray State came out on top 74-71 at The Bank last November. James and Keiona Kirby led the Racers with 18 points each in the win. MSU shot a season-high 51.7 percent in the game. LU has not won in the series since 2001.
The Lady Bisons are led by Ashley Southern who leads the team averaging 19 points and 13 rebounds. Southern has recorded a double-double in two games this season and has a season-high of 23 points and a season-best 20 boards. Point guard Loren Cagle is one of the Atlantic Sun's leaders in assists, averaging 6.3 per contest. Kelli Smith leads the team in shooting, hitting over 53 percent from the floor.
Lipscomb has four players that are averaging at least one made 3-pointer per contest. In LU's lone home game so far this season, the Lady Bisons lost their home opener to Loyola 57-52. Lipscomb is led by Head Coach Greg Brown who is in his fourth season at the helm of the Lady Bisons.
