The Murray State women's basketball team will face Central Arkansas for the second time in just a week Saturday as the Racers and Sugar Bears meet in Conway, Ark., at the Farris Center. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. UCA won the first meeting Nov. 21 in Murray, 61-51. The 51 points is a season-low for the Racers. Taylor Baudoin and Raquel Logan each recorded double-doubles in the game for UCA while MSU was led by Ke'Shunan James' 14 points. LeAsia Wright recorded a career-best seven steals in the loss.
The Racers will close their two-game road swing in the contest and are also looking to snap a three-game skid. Last time out, MSU was defeated 93-85 at Lipscomb. James recorded the first double-double of the season for MSU in the game, leading the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds. The Racers shot a season-best 42.1 percent from the floor in the game.
The Racer bench has been a key so far this season. MSU has gone 10 or 11 players deep all along this season and the Racers reserves are averaging 22.4 points per game, including a season-high 30 in the opener against Oakland City.
The Sugar Bears are led offensively by Maggie Proffitt's 14 points per game and Taylor Baudoin is second averaging 10.5. Baudoin had been coming off the bench the first three games of the season, but was inserted into the starting lineup in UCA's last contest. Baudoin and Raquel Logan each lead the team averaging 8.8 rebounds per game. Brianna Mullins leads the squad with 3.5 assists per contest. As a team, UCA is shooting 39.7 percent from 3-point range.
