Cross Country Team Named to All-Academic Team

The Murray State men's and women's cross country team were named as 2014 Division I All-Academic Teams by the United States Track & Field and Cross CountryCoaches Association, the organization announced Wednesday. In addition, the men's team posted the fourth highest team GPA in all of Division I.
The men racked up a cumulative 3.68 GPA during the 2014 cross country season and were only beat by Vanderbilt (3.74), Chattanooga (3.72) and Presbyterian (3.71). Of all Division I men's cross country programs, 179 were named as 2014 Division I All-Academic Teams.
The women combined for a 3.52 GPA for the 2014 season. Two hundred and twenty-six Division I women's cross country programs were named as Division I All-Academic Teams in 2014. The Murray State women were tied with four schools for the 55th best GPA of Division I programs and recorded the third best average in the OVC.
