Inside the Matchup
Murray State defeated the Salukis 3-2 in 11 innings earlier this season in Carbondale. Kipp Moore hit a game-winning sacrifice fly in the victory for the Racers. It was MSU's first extra innings contest of the season. The Racers are looking for their first consecutive victories over SIU since 1989.
Last Week
The Racers are coming off their first sweep of the season as they won all three games at Eastern Illinois over the weekend. MSU had its best offensive game of the season in game one against the Panthers in an 18-7 victory, and then in a doubleheader Sunday, the Racers won the first game 8-4 and the second 8-2 over EIU. Nick Moore led the Racers with nine RBIs in the series and went 5-for-10 in the three games.
Record-Breaking Performance
In game one against EIU, the Racers tied a school record by hitting six home runs in the game. The six homers matches the mark set in 1981 and '83 against Nebraska-Omaha and North Dakota, respectively. Anthony Bayus, Pokey Harris, Matthew Johnson, Tyler Lawrence, Kipp Moore and Nick Moore all homered in the win.

Greg Lambert leads the Saluki offense with a .283 batting average. Lambert is also one of seven Salukis to have hit a home run this season and is second on the squad with 10 RBIs. Jake Hand leads the team with 11 RBIs in 2015.
