Rifle Tabbed 6th in Preseason Poll

After finishing eighth at last year's national championship, the Murray State rifle team moved up two spots to sixth in the 2015 Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association preseason poll released Friday.
"This season has the potential to be one of the most competitive in the history of the sport," said Murray State head coach Alan Lollar. "There are more teams that have the capability to make the national championship this season, than any season in recent memory."
The Racers will be led in part this season by Ben Estes and Ivan Roe, who both earned All-American honors last season as a freshman. Senior Tessa Howald, an All-OVC selection a season ago, also returns to help lead the team.
Murray State will officially open the 2015-16 season on Sept. 27 when it hosts OVC rival UT Martin Pat Spurgin Rifle Range in Murray.
