Racers Take Third At Memphis Invitational

The Murray State women's golf team came home from the Memphis Invitational with a third place finish when they finished Tuesday at Ridgeway Country Club in Germantown, Tenn.
The event finished a very successful fall season for the Racers. One that saw them win twice and post two second place finishes that gave them a boost into the top-60 teams in the nation in NCAA D-I.
The Racers posted scores of 302-302-309=913, and finished a shot behind second place Houston Baptist (912) and chasing the host team and winner, Memphis (895).
Moa Folke was named to the All-Tournament Team on scores of 72-72-79=223, which was good for a spot in fifth place. Linette Holmslykke got an eighth place showing with scores of 73-78-76=227, while Lucila Puente Rodríguez de Austria had scores of 75-79-76=230 to finish 19th. Anna Moore placed 33rd (82-73-78=233) and Sydney Kelley placed 59th (82-82-79=243).
Raeysha Surendran played as an individual for the Racers and also placed 59th on scores of 80-82-81=243.
The top-10 finishers included: Florida International (915), Chattanooga (921), Tennessee Tech (922), Cal State Fullerton (922), Samford (925), Western Kentucky (927) and South Alabama (928). UAB (936), Missouri State (940) and IUPUI (959) rounded out the 13-team field.
Ridgeway Country Club is playing to a par-71 and 6,105 yards.
The Racers return to competition (Feb. 26-28) at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate, hosted by the College of Charleston in Kiawah Island, S.C. The event will be played on two courses, Oak Point and Osprey Point.
