James Named Co-Preseason Player of the Year by Media

Murray State junior Ke'Shunan James was selected as the OVC's Co-Preseason Player of the Year, as voted on by select members of the league's media and announced Friday by the league office. As a team, the Racers were picked to finish sixth in the conference in the poll.
James, who was an All-OVC First Team member a season ago, was fourth in the league in scoring average with 17.7 points per game in 2015-16. James ranked seventh in the conference with two steals per game, 11th in assists (3.4) and 12th in rebounding (6.4) last year for the Racers and also had five double-doubles. James was named co-player along with Eastern Kentucky's Jalen O'Bannon.
MSU received a total of 99 points in the preseason team poll, two points behind Southeast Missouri. Belmont was picked to finish first by the media and received 10 of the 14 first-place votes.
