In the back row, Alex Kaufmann led the way with 10 digs in the match while libero Ellie Lorenz added nine. At setter, Hannah Stultz tallied 35 assists and had a match-best three service aces. MSU recorded seven aces as a team in the win as TSU didn't have any.
The Racers were also better at the net defensively in the match, as they out-blocked the Tigers 7-3. Megan Lindsay led the way with a career-high five total blocks while Besselsen chipped in with three block assists.
MSU returns to action Saturday and looks to make it a weekend sweep as the Racers will face defending OVC Tournament Champion Belmont at 2 p.m.
