Rifle Moves To Second In Latest CRCA Poll
10/31/2016 11:00:00 PM | Rifle
One day after setting a new NCAA record in smallbore, the Murray State rifle team moved to second in the latest Top 20 that was released by the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association Monday.
"It's good to see our hard work paying off," said head coach Alan Lollar. "The most important thing, however, is maintaining our standard of performance and continuing to be consistent. There is still a long way to go in the season."
West Virginia remained atop the poll for the second consecutive week, while last week's No. 2, TCU, fell one spot to three. Kentucky jumped up two spots this week to move into fourth, while the team that was tied with MSU last week in third, Air Force, fell to fifth.
The Racers will get their first chance to defend their new ranking Saturday when they travel to Morehead State for the first of three consecutive road matches that will close out the 2016 potion of their schedule.
