The Murray State volleyball took care of Eastern Illinois with a 3-1 win Friday at Racer Arena and took another step in earning their third-straight Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship.

The Racers lost the first set 29-27, but got back into the game in taking the second set 25-21. MSU wrapped up the match with set wins of 26-24 and 25-12.

MSU's two-time OVC Player of the Year pick, Scottie Ingram, had a big day with 22 kills to go with 17 digs. Dacia Brown led the Racers with a .429 hitting percentage on 11-of-21 attempts, while Olivia Chatman was 10-of-17 for 35 percent.

Murray State improved to 19-8 overall and 14-1 in OVC play. The Racers can clinch the title Saturday when they host the SIUE Cougars at 7 p.m. SIUE remained in the hunt for the title as well with a 3-0 win at Austin Peay. A win over the 13-2 Cougars gives the Racers the outright title.
