Wright Named ADIDAS OVC Basketball Player of the Week

Murray State women's basketball student-athlete LeAsia Wright has been named the ADIDAS OVC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance last week for the Racers. Wright averaged 22.5 points per game on 53 percent shooting from the floor in MSU's two games.
Wright, who also went 7-of-13 from 3-point range, averaged 7.5 rebounds and a team-high 3.5 assists per game last week as well. In the Racers' 79-59 win last Tuesday over Lipscomb, Wright scored 23 points on a career-best 10 made field goals while also adding seven boards and four assists. Following that, Wright led the Racers with 22 points in their loss at Ohio. Wright went 4-for-7 from beyond the arc in the game and also grabbed eight boards and dished-out a team-high three assists.
Joining Wright in taking home player of the week honors was Ke'Shunan James who was named the College Sports Madness' OVC Player of the Week on Monday. James averaged 23 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last week and shot 51 percent from the floor.
Wright, James and the rest of the Racers return home Sunday as they host Evansville at the CFSB Center in a 2 p.m. contest.
