Racers Fall at Southern Illinois

The Murray State women's tennis team lost their second straight match as they fell to Southern Illinois 6-1.
The Racers fell behind early as the Salukis took the doubles point for the early lead. In the singles matches, the Racers were unable to bounce back. Megan Blue was the lone Racer to win her match as she took down her opponent 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Despite the loss, head coach Jorge Caetano was impressed with his team's performance. "The more I get to know these girls, the more impressed I am with their attitudes and their willingness to work even harder," said Caetano. "It was a great match to watch with both teams playing fair but very hard so props to SIU-C for playing better in the big moments"
The Racers look to get back on the right track as they return home for their match against Western Kentucky on Saturday.
"Our girls know we are on the right track and we can't wait for our match tomorrow against WKU." said Caetano. "It will be another battle and I hope we can use the home court advantage in our favor and finish the weekend with a win."
Match time is set for 12 p.m.
