Racers Picked to Finish Second in OVC

The Murray State woman's tennis team was picked second in the annual OVC preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches, the league office announced on Friday. MSU recieved four first place votes and a total of 82 points in the poll.
The Racers are coming off a 17-4 season where they won their second consecutive OVC regular season and conference title. It was Murray State's eighth OVC Tournament Championship which led to the sixth NCAA tournament appearance for the Racers.
Jorge Caetano returns for his second season as the MSU head coach. He returns three seniors, Megan Blue, Erin Patton, and Suzaan Stoltz. In 2015, Patton became the third Murray State player to go undefeated in the regular season as her only loss occurred in the NCAA Tournament.
The Racers bring in many new faces to the team. Freshmen Amina Hadzic, Jeanne Masson, Haily Morgan, and Mari Udagawa all look to make an impact this upcoming season. Alina Schibol comes in as the lone junior on the team. The transfer from Robert Morris looks to make a difference in the Racer lineup this season.
For their next match, the Racers travel to take on the Louisville Cardinals on Sunday at 4 p.m. The next match at home for MSU is February 20 at Kenlake State Park. Match time set for 11 a.m.
