Racers Fall at Eastern Kentucky

On Saturday. the Murray State women's tennis team suffered their first loss in OVC play as they were defeated by Eastern Kentucky 7-0 in Richmond, Ky.
The doubles point started well for the Racers. At the No. 1 doubles, partners Haily Morgan and Erin Patton won the first match in doubles play as they beat their opponent 6-1. Unfortunately for MSU, the Colonels won the next two doubles matches to jump out to an early 1-0 lead.
In singles play, EKU proved to be too much for Murray State. At the No. 2 singles, freshman Amina Hadzic won her first set 6-3 but was defeated in her next two sets 6-2, 6-0. Alina Schibol and Jeanne Masson both played one set to eight points against EKU. Schibol lost at the No. 5 singles 8-6. Masson lost at the No.6 singles 8-4.
The Racers are back on the road Wednesday for their last non conference match as they take on Middle Tennessee. Match time is set for 2 p.m. Murray State (6-5, 1-1) returns home Friday to take on Eastern Illinois. Match time is set for 10 a.m..Â
