Racers Top Redhawks on the Road

The Murray State women's tennis team picked up a win on Saturday as they defeated Southeast Missouri 7-0 in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
The Racers dominated in the doubles matches. Partners Megan Blue and Amina Hadzic as well as Erin Patton and Haily Morgan won their matches 6-1. Alina Schibol and Jeanne Masson won at the No. 3 doubles by forfeit. The victories gave MSU the early 1-0 lead.
Murray State (8-8, 3-3) did not let up in the singles matches. Blue won her match at the No. 1 singles 7-6, 6-2. Hadzic fought hard in her first match as she won 6-4, but found her groove in the second match as she swept her opponent 6-0. Morgan won her second straight match at the No. 3 singles as she won 6-0, 6-2. Patton won at the No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-4. Alina Schibol won her match at the No. 5 singles as she defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-2. Rounding out the field for MSU was Masson at the No. 6 singles. She won her match by forfeit.
The Racers have a quick turn around as they take on Austin Peay in a midweek match in Clarksville Tenn. The team will then return home for their final matches of the season at Purcell Courts. MSU takes on Belmont on Friday and Tennessee State on Saturday. Match time for both matches is set for 10 a.m.
