Holthaus Named ADIDAS OVC Newcomer of the Week

Murray State's Rachel Holthaus was named the ADIDAS OVC Co-Newcomer of the Week Monday by the league office for her performance over the weekend in MSU's matches against SIU Edwardsville and Eastern Illinois.
Holthaus led the Racers in kills over the weekend averaging 3.33 per set while also recording a .338 attack percentage. She began the weekend with a career-best and match-high 21 kills in MSU's five-set loss at SIUE. Holthaus hit .396 in the match and tallied her second double-double of the year as she added 10 digs.
In the four-set victory against EIU, Holthaus added nine kills and had a career-best 14 digs while also adding an ace. Holthaus was named co-newcomer along with Morehead State's Lauren Rokey.
Holthaus and the rest of the Racers return home for the final time this weekend as they face Southeast Missouri Friday at 7 p.m., and UT Martin in a 2 p.m., contest Saturday.
