Fitzgerald Joins Rifle For 2018-19

Head coach Alan Lollar is pleased to announce to signing of Emily Fitzgerald of Peralta, New Mexico to the Murray State rifle team for the 2018-2019 season.
"We are excited to welcome Emily to the Racer family," said Lollar. "She comes from a good program that teaches fundamentals well. She is a hard worker with loads of potential."
Fitzgerald is a two-time New Mexico 4-H state smallbore champion and the 2015 4-H smallbore national champion. She is a two-time participant in the USA Shooting Junior Olympics in both air rifle and smallbore and has also earned her Distinguished Shooter badge from the Civilian Marksmanship Program.
The Albuquerque, New Mexico native recently had a strong showing at the 2017 USA Shooting National Championships, where she placed in the top 60 of the open division in three separate events. Fitzgerald's best finish came in the 50m prone where she finished 31st, which was followed by 50th in the 50m three-position rifle and 57th in the 10m air rifle.
