The Murray State Racers (12-13, 6-5 OVC) begin the final regular season home stand Saturday when they host the Austin Peay Governors (8-17, 4-7 OVC) in a 7 p.m. tip at the CFSB Center on Saturday in Murray, Ky. The day is a doubleheader day at the Bank as the MSU women's team hosts the Lady Govs at 5 p.m.
Froggy 103 (WFGS 103.7 FM) airs every MSU game with "Voice of the Racers" Neal Bradley, in his 26th season calling the action. Former MSU assistant coach Kenny Roth provides commentary. Froggy103.com and GoRacers.com has free online streaming audio. Free online streaming video is available at OVCDigitalNetwork.com.
The game marks the 125th meeting in what makes up one of the most intense and remarkable rivalries in the college game. It also means there are two more games added to the Heritage Bank Battle of the Border. The season-long competition between the Racers and Govs has all sports involved as well as a community service and donor component. The Racers jumped to wins in cross country, football, soccer and volleyball, but APSU won the first two basketball games in January.
The Racers are coming off of a bitter loss Wednesday in overtime at Morehead State in a 101-100 final score. MSU has been on a hard luck run in close games this season, but with five games left, their run of consecutive winning seasons can be extended with some good play down the stretch,
MSU is looking for the program's 30th consecutive winning season, a run that is fourth among NCAA D-I teams.Â
