Claire Chang Named TO All-OVC Preseason Team

Murray State women's tennis freshman Claire Chang was named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Team in voting conducted by the league's head coaches.

Chang, from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has produced positive results for the Racers from the moment she first stepped on the court. Even though she's a first-year player, Chang has taken the responsibility as the Racers' No. 1 singles spot and has produced six wins. She won the UCA Invitational and had a runner-up showing at the Wright State Invitational as well. Teaming with Alina Schibol in doubles, Chang won eight matches.

"I am very excited for Claire being the number one freshman on the preseason team," Murray State coach Jorge Caetano said. "She showed a lot of maturity for a freshman with some great wins against much more experienced players. The team and I really believe in her and we think she can compete at a high level in our conference."
