Seven Racers Named As All-Americans

Seven of the nine members of the Murray State rifle team earned All-American honors at the annual post-NCAA Championship awards banquet in Columbus, Ohio.
Ivan Roe earned first-team honors from the Collegiate Rifle Association, while MacKenzie Martin was named to the second team. Ben Estes was also honored by the CRCA as an All-American honorable mention.
Roe was also named as first-team All-American in both smallbore and air rifle by the National Rifle Association, while Martin was a second- team selection on both guns. Alathea Sellars, Ben Estes, Barbara Schläpfer were also named as second-team All-Americans with Sellars earning the honor for air rifle and Estes and Schläpfer getting the nod for smallbore. Robert Broadstreet and Meike Drewell rounded out the awards for MSU by being named as honorable mentions in smallbore.
The All-American awards were the third of their careers for Estes and Roe, while it was the second for Martin and Schläpfer. Broadstreet, Drewell and Sellars each earned their first All-American honor making them the 55th, 56th and 57th individual All-Americans in MSU history.
