Puente Has Strong Finish At UNF Collegiate

Lucila Puente turned in an excellent performance at the UNF Collegiate being with a strong finish of 17th place in the field of 87 players at the Jacksonville Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida.

A freshman from Sevilla, Spain, Puente carded rounds of 75-77-73=225 to get the Racers' best finish of the event. Her final round was highlighted by an eagle and two birdies.

The Racers placed 12th with scores of 302-306-306=914, ahead of host North Florida (926) and Western Kentucky (941). MSU trailed ninth place Virginia Tech and Delaware each at 912. Southern Mississippi was the winner with a team score of 895, ahead of Memphis (895) and Old Dominion (896).

Other Murray State scores and finishes included Linette Holmslykke who shared 33rd place with teammate Jane Watts. Holmslykke had scores of 75-72-82=229 and Watts carded scores of 72-79-78=229. Moa Folke placed 51st with 84-78-73=235 and Anna Moore finished 78th with scores of 90-80-85=245.
