Racers Begin Final Home Stand With Tennessee Tech

Friday's Games
The Murray State softball team kicks off its final nine games of the season Friday with an OVC doubleheader against Tennessee Tech. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. with both games scheduled to be broadcast on OVCDigitalNetwork.com.
Last Time Out
The Racers went 3-1 on the week, splitting with UT Martin and sweeping Southeast Missouri. Jessica Twaddle led MSU on the week by going 10-for-16 at the plate for a .625 average, which was highlighted by a 4-for-4 performance in the opener against UT Martin. Kaylee Ranburger followed Twaddle with a .529 average, while Finck batted an even .500. In circle, Mason Robinson went 2-0, Haven Campbell earned her first save of the season and Amber Van Duyse picked up the first win of her collegiate career in the second game against SEMO.

Tennessee Tech has won four of the last six meetings between the two teams and enters the weekend trailing Murray State in the all-time series, 11-9. Last season, the Golden Eagles swept a doubleheader in Murray, where they are now 4-2 all-time.
Scouting The Golden Eagles
Despite a 6-4 mark in league play, Tennessee Tech enters Friday at 13-24 overall after dropping a doubleheader to Samford, Wednesday. The Golden Eagles are batting .229 on the year and are led by Alaia Bivens and her .320 average. In addition to hitting for average, Bivens hits for power as well as she has six doubles and a team-high seven home runs. In the circle, Tennessee Tech has a 4.01 team ERA and a .296 opponents' average. In her senior season, Danielle Liberatore continues to strikeout out opposing batters at a high rate with 126 strikeouts and just 51 walks. She will enter the weekend with a record of 5-8, an ERA of 3.50 and an opponents' average of .256

The concept behind "What's Your Why?" is simple, its' a cause that you are passionate about want to raise awareness for. The third "why" for this season will be the organization Best Buddies and will be presented by Maggie Glass.
