Volleyball Opens Spring Slate With Perfect Weekend

The three-time defending OVC Champion Murray State volleyball team opened its spring season Saturday at Eastern Illinois. The Racers picked up right where they left off last season as they picked up three sweeps on the day.
MSU opened the day with a 25-21 and 25-22 win over Parkland College. Next, the Racers made quick work of Southern Indiana as set scores went 25-9 and 25-15 before closing the day with a 28-26 and 25-22 win against EIU.
"I was very happy with the progress throughout the day and loved seeing how the girls are jelling as a team," said Head Coach David Schwepker.
"These girls have some big shoes to fill and I am so glad they are up for the challenge! This was a good day for them and for our staff."
The Racers will next travel to UT Martin on Tuesday before heading down to Nashville for a tournament Saturday.
