Racers Strong at Junior Olympics

MacKenzie Martin and Meike Drewell of the Murray State rifle team recently turned in solid performances at the 2017 National Junior Olympic Championship in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Both Racers qualified for the finals in the 10m air rifle event, while Martin also qualified for the 50m three position air rifle final. Â In the 10m event, Martin came in at sixth place, while Drewell finished eighth. In three position, Martin was fifth, while Drewell finished 13th.
"I am very proud of Kenzie and Meike," said head coach Alan Lollar. "This was a big event and they both showed up and competed at a very high level. They showed that they could not only compete with the best of the best, but they represented Murray State and our program with a lot of class and dignity." Â
In total, 66 competitors took part in the three position event, while 180 competed in the 10m event.
