Racers Fall in Game Two to Morehead State

Murray State was held to just six hits in a 10-0 loss Saturday night at Reagan Field against Morehead State, snapping a three-game winning streak.
The Eagles (31-20, 17-9 OVC) scored in each of the first four innings and five of the first six to jump out to an early lead. Morehead scored two runs in the first and third innings, one each in the second, fourth and ninth and had three runs in the sixth.
Six Racers recorded a hit in the loss as CJ Bush, Ryan Perkins and Ramsey Scott all went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead the way offensively. Brandon Gutzler, Gavin Wehby and Grant Wood also had hits in the loss.
Luke Brown got the start and took the loss on the night as he pitched three innings and allowed five runs, four of which were earned, on five hits. Blake Clynes, Peyton Hayes and Connor Holden all made relief appearances in the contest.
MSU goes for its third straight series win Sunday in the rubber match beginning at 1 p.m. It is also Senior Day at Reagan Field as seniors Tyler Anderson, Brandon Gutzler, Caleb Hicks, Ramsey Scott and Gavin Wehby will all be honored before the game.
