Racers Open Year Two Of Turner Era

The Murray State women's basketball team officially opened its 2018-19 season Wednesday with the first practice of the season.
Before they took the floor, senior Michaela Manley and sophomore Brianna Crane, along with second year head coach Rechelle Turner addressed the media and talked about the upcoming season.
The Racers return just five players and two starters from a year ago, with perhaps the biggest hole to fill being left by the 2017-18 OVC Player of the Year Ke'Shunan James. With just four players returning that saw action last season, MSU will look to replace 79.6 percent of its 70.1 points per game in 2017-18. To do so, the Racers will turn to new faces such as Evelyn Adebayo, who sat out due to NCAA transfer rules last year, the hometown trio of Lex Mayes, Macey Turley and Alexis Burpo, junior college transfer Cekeya Mack, among others.
Fans will get their first peak at the new look Racers in an exhibition against Lindsey Wilson November 1, followed by the season-opener November 7 against Evansville at the CFSB Center.
