Lawrence, Oren Sweep OVC Weekly Awards

After standout performances over the weekend at the Bulldog Open, Tamdra Lawrence and Ashlyn Oren have swept the OVC awards with Lawrence winning Track Athlete of the Week and Oren taking home Field Athlete of the Week.
"I am extremely happy for Ashlyn and Tamdra to be recognized for their accomplishments over the weekend," said head coach Adam Kiesler. "It's been a great year for both athletes and the hard work they have put in shows."
Lawrence recorded a pair of top two finishes at the Bulldog Open last week. She finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 24.17, which is the best time in the OVC this season. She also placed second in the 60 meters with a time of 7.56.
Oren had two top-three finishes in Birmingham over the weekend as she took first in the high jump with a personal-best mark of 1.70m (5' 7") which ranks second in the OVC and is the seventh best jump in school history. She also placed third in the long jump with a mark of 5.46m (17' 11").
Lawrence, Oren and the rest of their Racer teammates return to the Birmingham CrossPlex for the OVC Indoor Championships, February 20th and 21st.
