Racers Secure Fifth-Place Finish at MVC Indoor Championships

The Murray State Women's track and field team concluded the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships, securing a fifth-place finish in the final team standings. Over the course of the meet, the Racers recorded 16 personal bests and established nine new marks on the program's all-time top-10 performance lists. In total, Murray State produced 19 scorers and six podium finishes.

Day Two Highlights

Alyssa Williams led the team in scoring, tallying 18 points across three events while setting personal bests in each. She earned a silver medal in the long jump with a mark of 5.97m, which ranks fourth in school history. Williams added a pair of fourth-place finishes in the triple jump (11.83m) and the 60-meter dash. Her triple jump performance moves her to sixth in the Murray State record book, and she maintains the sixth-fastest 60m time in program history.
Serena Blackwood secured a podium finish in the 60-meter dash, placing third overall. She also scored in the 200-meter final, finishing fifth with a personal-best time of 24.16. This mark keeps her at seventh on Murray State's all-time list for the event.
Breece Bass posted a personal-best time of 55.45 in the 400-meter final. The time moves her up to fifth in program history and surpasses her previous high school best of 56.36. Bass, who is also a member of the Murray State women's soccer team, rejoined the track and field roster in November after a year away from the sport.
Gabija Karvelis, returning to competition after dealing with an injury during the indoor regular season, the freshman recorded a jump of 11.56m to place sixth overall and score for the Racers.
