Wheeler Leads Racers At Nichols Intercollegiate

The Murray State men's golf team saw Gabe Wheeler come home with a 38^th place finish at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn., while the Racers finished 13^th.

Wheeler, a senior, had rounds of 73-76-74=223 for a spot in 38^th place, while Austin Knight placed 45^th on rounds of 76-76-72=224. Dalton Bagwell placed 52^nd after scores of 78-74-74=226, while Connor Coombs had scores of 73-81-78=232 and finished in 70^th place. Avery Edwards had scores of 79-79-78=236 and placed 77^th, as did James Boone, who played the event as an individual, after scores of 78-84-74=236.

The Racers had scores of 300-305-298=903 and shared 13^th place with Detroit. Lee was the winner at 842, ahead of Eastern Kentucky (848) and Carson-Newman (859).

The River Course played to a par of 72 and 6,972 yards.

The Racers play at the UNA Spring Classic (March 25-26) at The Shoals GC in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
