Chang Garners OVC Player of the Week Honors

After an outstanding showing against Southern Indiana, Claire Chang has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for women's tennis.
Chang receives the honor after winning both doubles and singles against the Screaming Eagles on Saturday in Evansville, Indiana. In singles play, she prevailed 6-0 and 6-1 in the No. 1 singles position, while teaming up with Jeanne Masson to secure the 7-6 victory in doubles competition.
"I'm very happy for Claire because she is finally 100% healthy and playing some consistent tennis. She is always playing the best players on the other teams, which is always a challenge, but I have confidence that she is always going to have chances of winning. I'm glad that she has been able to get those wins," said MSU head coach Jorge Caetano.
Chang becomes the first Murray State women's tennis player to receive the honor in 2019.
Chang and the Racers return to action on Friday, as they open OVC competition on the road against Tennessee State in Nashville, Tennessee.
