Racers Score Runner Up Finish at Kirk Intercollegiate

The Murray State women's golf squad came home with a share of second place at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate at Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia.

The Racers have posted a first and pair of second place finishes in the last three years at this event.

At the Kirk Intercollegiate, the Racers posted scores of 291-305-316=912 and tied Florida Gulf Coast for the runner-up spot to winner South Florida 890. Albany (913), Oral Roberts (915) and fellow Ohio Valley Conference member Jacksonville State (916) made up the top-6.

Linette Holmslykke led the Racers with a spot in fifth place on scores of 68-78-78=224. Coming into the week as the OVC scoring leader, Holmslykke now has six top-5 finishes in nine events in the 2018-19 season. Other MSU scores and finishes included Jane Watts and Raeshya Surendran sharing 24^th place. Watts posted scores of 74-77-79=230 and Surendran 75-76-79=230. Anna Moore placed 43^rd on rounds of 84-74-80=238 and Sarah McDowell had a spot in 68^th place on scores of 74-89-81=244.

Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria and Taylor Church played the event as individuals and placed 68^th and 82^nd. Rodriguez posted rounds of 81-78-85=244 and Church 82-86-89=257.

Eagle's Landing was a par-72 layout and had a length of 6,043 yards.

The Racers now get ready to host their home spring event, the Jan Weaver Invitational at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, on Friday and Saturday (April 5-6).
