The Racers will play their final home games of 2019 when they host a pair of Ohio Valley Conference doubleheaders on the weekend. After two contests against Eastern Kentucky on Friday, the Racers welcome Morehead State on Sunday to conclude the 2019 home schedule at Racer Field in Murray, Kentucky. Sunday's doubleheader will also serve as Senior Day, with celebrations of those student-athletes taking place prior to game one of the afternoon.
Last Time Out:
The Racers are coming off a tough loss to North Alabama in a single game at Racer Field on Tuesday. Murray State would not trail until the final inning, when the Lions scored four runs to take a 5-4 lead. While the Racers did not achieve the desired result in the one-run ballgame, they saw another outstanding pitching performance from freshman Hannah James. James tossed six innings while giving up just a single run, while fanning four batters without issuing a walk on the day.
At the plate, Sierra Gilmore led the way as she reached base twice while driving in a pair of Racer runs in the defeat.

The Racers enter the weekend with an 11-5 record in the OVC, which is currently good for fifth place in the conference standings with six games left to go. Batting an even .300 while averaging 5.38 runs per contest, EKU ranks top-50 in the country in both of those categories as they approach their weekend competitions.
With six players batting over .300, Sammi Miller leads a potent Colonel lineup with a .394 average and 16 stolen bases on the year. Supplying the power for EKU has been Hannah Clark, who enters the weekend with 11 home runs and 46 RBI, while slugging .671 in 2019.
