Racers Earn Team Academic Awards from USTFCCCA

The Murray State men's and women's cross country teams were honored as part of the 2019 NCAA Division I All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
"Once again we are very excited to receive this recognition," said head coach Adam Kiesler. "Both the men's and women's teams worked very hard to accomplish this All-Academic status. The classroom is something that is very important to us here at Murray State to the whole department. We want to make sure that we hold up our end of the bargain to keep the 3.0 consecutive streak going!"
Only teams that have a 3.0 GPA or higher can make the national list. The Racer men had a 3.26 GPA while the women put together a 3.42 GPA.
The Racers are part of a group of 5 schools from the Ohio Valley Conference to be honored, with all five of them being honored for both the men's and women's teams.
Overall, there were 428 teams that earned distinction from the USTFCCCA for their efforts both athletically and academically.
