Cold Shooting Plagues Racers at JSU

The Murray State women's basketball team ran into a cold shooting spell as it fell, 68-51, at Jacksonville State Thursday night at the Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, Alabama.
The Racers shot near season lows of 34.5-percent from the floor and just 19.0-percent from three-point range in the contest. In addition, to having troubles shooting the ball, Murray State was also outrebounded, 42-32, and committed more fouls than the Gamecocks at 17-9. MSU led for just 45 seconds in the contest, gaining the lead once in the second quarter, however that would be its only one of the game.
Macey Turley led the Racers on the night with 15 points, while Lexi Hawthorne had a team-high 10 rebounds. Cekeya Mack had a career-night against JSU, scoring a personal best of 15 points to go along with five rebounds and an assist, a steal and a block.
The Racers return to action Saturday when they travel to Tennessee Tech for a 5 p.m. tip-off at the Eblen Center on ESPN+ and WNBS 1340 AM.
