Five Racers score in double-figures as Racers improve to 4-2 in 2020-21 season
The Murray State Racers won for the 25th consecutive time at the CFSB Center in a 90-49 victory over the Transylvania Pioneers Tuesday night in Murray, Kentucky.
Â
The Racers (4-2) are now finished with their scheduled non-league games as they get back into Ohio Valley Conference play Monday at Austin Peay.
Â
Five Racers scored in double-figures led by 14 points from Chico Carter, Jr., and 12 from Tevin Brown. Brion Whitley added 11 points, while Devin Gilmore and KJ Williams each added 10 points.
Â
Leading the Pioneers 38-29 at halftime, the Racers opened the second half with a 27-6 run to open the game up to a 65-35 lead with 11:04 remaining.
Â
The Racers ended the night shooting at a .617 clip (37-of-60), while holding Transylvania to .333 (18-of-54). The Racers held a 41-28 advantage on the boards.

Game Notes
Tonight's game was the first between the Racers and Pioneers since 1939 and it was only the fourth meeting since their first in 1932.
Â
The Racers now lead the all-time series with Transylvania 3-1.

Â
The neat story line of the night was the fact that the Sivills brothers, Will of Transy and Jackson of Murray State, played against each other for the first time. Will played at Calloway County High School in Murray and then finished at McCracken County High School in 2017. Jackson played his entire career at MCHS. Will is a senior at Transylvania and a Jackson is a freshman at Murray State. The two stepped on the CFSB Center court for the first time as opponents at the 3:47 mark of the second half to a nice cheer from the limited crowd at the CFSB Center. Will and Jackson's father, Scott, played for the Racers from 1990-93 and their mother, Catherine, is also a Murray State graduate.
Â
The Racers' game Monday in Clarksville, Tennessee against APSU will be carried by ESPNU from the Dunn Center. Mike Corey and Kevin Lehman will have the call on ESPNU at 8 p.m.
Â
In his 30th season, the "Voice of the Racers" and Murray State Hall of Famer, Neal Bradley is on the call again for the 2020-21 season. Former MSU assistant coach Kenny Roth provides analysis. All MSU games can be heard online at Froggy103.com and GoRacers.com.
Â
The Racers won the first meeting (Dec. 8) at home 87-57.
