After willing itself to the eighth and final spot in 2020 OVC Women's Basketball Championships in the last week of the regular season, once the Racers got there, they simply ran out of gas. Down to eight active players, Murray State turned in an gutsy performance Wednesday afternoon at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana but it was just not enough, as top seeded UT Martin advanced to Friday's semifinals with an 88-33 win.

Neither team scored for nearly the first three minutes of Wednesday's contest, until the Skyhawks finally broke through with 7:20 remaining in the opening stanza. From there UT Martin went on a 12-0 run and never looked back, holding the Racers to their lowest offensive output of the season at 33, as well as posting the biggest win in the series between the two teams at 55 points.

Ashely Hunter led Murray State in the game with 10 points, while G'Torria Swinton and Alexis Burpo posted a team-high eight rebounds to go along with four and seven points, respectively.

With the loss, the Racers end their 2019-20 campaign at 14-16, marking the most wins of the Rechelle Turner era.
