Racer Baseball Announces 52 Game Slate for 2022 Season

31 Games at Johnny Reagan Field, Three SEC Opponents Highlight 2022 Schedule
Murray State baseball head coach Dan Skirka has announced the Racers 2022 schedule on Monday (Dec. 6) highlighted by 31 home games and road trips to three SEC opponents throughout the spring.

"We are very excited about this years schedule." Skirka said, "To be able to have 5 of 6 non conference weekends at Johnny Reagan field will be amazing! It is a very challenging schedule that will prepare us for the OVC portion. It's always great to continue past rivalries but also to challenge ourselves with new opponents and I feel that this years schedule does that."
The Racers begin their season on February 18 for a three-game series with Butler University for the first time in program history. Murray State will then host in-state opponent Bellarmine University for a midweek matchup on February 22 before rounding out the first home stand against Northern Illinois for a three-game set beginning on February 25.

On March 4, Murray State travels to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for three-games with the Alabama Crimson Tide for the first time since 1996 before a midweek matchup at in-state rival Kentucky on March 8.
Murray State will then return home on March 11 for a weekend series with Illinois State followed by a Wednesday game with North Alabama on March 16. Valparaiso comes to Johnny Reagan field on March 18 for the first time since 2012.

OVC play begins on March 25 with a three-game series at rival Morehead State. The Racers then travel to Huntsville, Alabama for a midweek nonconference game with Alabama A&M.

Belmont University comes to Johnny Reagan Field for the conference home opener and Player's Weekend from April 1 to April 3 with rival nonconference opponent Southern Illinois visiting on April 5.

The Racers will travel to Cape Girardeau, Missouri for a rematch of the OVC Championship with Southeast Missouri from April 8-10.

Murray State then takes on perennial SEC powerhouse and NCAA Super Regional participant Ole Miss for a single game at Swayze Field in Oxford, Mississippi on April 12.

UT Martin travels to Murray State for a three-game matchup starting on April 14 to continue conference play. The Racers hit the road again for another midweek game on April 19 with North Alabama before traveling to Eastern Illinois for a conference series starting on April 22.

The Racers then host Alabama A&M on April 26 before taking on OVC opponent SIUE from April 29 through May 1 for alumni weekend.

Murray State will then begin a rivalry week of sorts traveling to nonconference rival Southern Illinois on May 3 before taking on OVC rival Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tennessee from May 6-8.

Rounding out the regular season, Western Illinois comes to Murray State on May 13 for a series. The Racers then travel to the University of Evansville for the final road game of the season on May 17. Tennessee Tech will come to Johnny Reagan Field for the final regular season series from May 19-21.

The OVC Tournament will be hosted in Lexington, Kentucky from May 25-29 at the Lexington Legends Ballpark.
