Kiuru Leads In Qualifiers; Racers Now Wait

MSU fires a 4670, must wait for final qualifiers Monday
The Murray State rifle team fired a 4670 in the annual NCAA Qualifier match Sunday at the Pat Spurgin Range in Murray, Kentucky. The Racers shot 2322 in smallbore, followed by a 2348 in air rifle
The Racers score', along with their three score average, currently places them at eighth and inside the eight-team field for next month's NCAA Championship. However, the Racers must wait until Monday to see if their qualification score holds, as two teams will shoot their qualifier then due to the unprecedented winter storms this past week.
Matias Kiuru put up big numbers on both guns Sunday, leading the Racers with 586 smallbore and 596 air rifle. Allison Henry was also solid on the day shooting a 584 on both guns, while Kylie Delaney turned in a career-best 591 in air rifle.
