Cross Country To Compete at the OVC Championships

The Racers will head to Clarksville, Tennessee to compete at the 2020-21 cross country OVC Championships on Monday, March 1, hosted by Austin Peay.
The Murray State men's and women's cross country teams are back in action, Monday, when they will run at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Clarksville, Tennessee. The women will run a 5K at 12 p.m. followed by the men running an 8K at 12:45 p.m.
It will be the 60th men's championships while the women will be running for the 42nd time. It will be the first time that Austin Peay has hosted the championship meet since 2006.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, there will be no fans permitted at the Championships this year.
"The team is feeling good and ready to go for tomorrow's race!" said distance coach Jordan Wallace.
Senior Caleb Kawasaki has been leading the way for the men, finishing in the top spot for the Racers in all four races this season, including a 6th-place overall finish at the Kentucky Indoor Collegiate.
The Racers will also lean on sophomore Benjamin Hall, who has finished as the team's second finisher in two of the three races and set a personal record at the Belmont Opener with a time of
27:46.2.
For the women, juniors Dani Wright and Emma Creviston have been the top finishers for the Racers all season, including two top-six finishes at the Murray State Open and the Kentucky Indoor Collegiate.
Sophomores Kristen Dent and Jessica Stein are two of the other top runners for Murray State as they have battled for the spots behind Wright and Creviston in all three races this season.
Eastern Kentucky has dominated the OVC recently as the men have won 14 straight OVC championships while the women have won eight straight.
