Lollar Adds Two More 2021-2022

Mississippi, Alabama natives will join MSU next season
Murray State rifle head coach Alan Lollar has announced the addition of John Blanton of West Point, Mississippi and Andrew Duryea of Birmingham, Alabama for the 2021-2022 season.
Blanton is a decorated shooter who has won multiple medals at both the state and national level. The Mississippi native has won the air rifle event at the Mississippi Junior Olympics in each of the, past two years, finished second in smallbore in 2019 and third in smallbore in both 2018 and 2020. Blanton has also placed at the national level winning a 2018 section championship and finishing second at the 2018 Inter-Junior championships. In addition, Blanton is a two-sport standout, having helped the Heritage Academy Patriots to a district title in 2019 and 2020, as well as the 2019 MAIS Class 5A state championship.
Duryea is a four-time Junior Olympic qualifier in smallbore and air rifle and a two-time qualifier in air pistol. The Birmingham native recently won the 2021 USA Shooting Air Rifle and Smallbore Alabama state championship and in 2019 and 2020 he won the American Legion Standing Air Rifle Championship for the state of Alabama. Duryea also finished second in the 2019 Civilian Marksmanship Program monthly league and third in the 2019 Alabama three-position smallbore championships.
Blanton and Duryea will join Zach Jackson of Madison, West Virginia, who signed in late 2020, as the three members of MSU's rifles 2020-21 recruiting class.
