Racers Soccer Look to Continue Hot Start, Host Louisiana Tech Sunday

Following Their Big Win on Thursday, Racers Get Another Test at Home
The Murray State Soccer team will host the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 1 pm on Sunday (Aug. 22) at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky. After scoring six goals on their way to a season opening 6-1 victory over Missouri State on August 19, the Racers will try to keep their potent offense going.
Abby Jones was the star of Thursday's match posting a hat trick and an assist in the performance. Morgan Bodker and Audrey Brumfield each scored their first career goals in the match.
"We are going to try and continue these successes and the team energy was high, so we will try to carry that to Sunday." Jones said.
Scouting Report
Louisiana Tech won their lone match of the season thus far, winning in a big way over NCAA Division III opponent, East Texas Baptist 9-0. The Bulldogs scored the nine goals on 26 total shots and four assists.
Eight different Bulldogs scored in the match with Lauren Egbuloniu leading the way with two goals.
The Racers and Bulldogs last met in 2015 with Murray State coming away with the 1-0 victory.
What to Watch For
Rebecca Kubin currently ranks fifth all-time in goals scored at Murray State with 26, just three goals behind Julie Mooney for fourth all-time.
Abby Jones is the all-time leader in assists at Murray State picking up her 24th assist on Thursday and will look to extend her record.
Following Sunday's home match, the Racers will be on the road until September 19 when they host Southern Illinois.
