Racers Return to Cutchin Field, Host Salukis on Sunday

For the First Time in Nearly a Month Murray State Hosts Home Match
The Murray State Women's Soccer team will host the Southern Illinois Salukis on Sunday (Sept. 19) at 1 pm at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky. This will be the Racers first home contest since August 22 when Murray State defeated Lousiana Tech 3-2.
Murray State enters the contest at 4-3 after going 2-3 on the road swing, playing against multiple Power Five opponents during the trip and winning two games over Conference USA opponents in Florida Atlantic and Florida International. In their last contest, the Racers fell to a very strong Kentucky team in overtime but led the Wildcats into the 80th minute of the match.
Abby Jones, Lauren Payne, and Symone Cooper continue to lead the Racers in goals with three each. Hailey Cole leads Murray State with three assists, followed closely by Morgan Bodker with two. Izzy Heckman scored her first goal of the season in the first half against Kentucky with Chloe Barnthouse picking up her second goal of the season in the contest.
Southern Illinois is 0-7-1 after falling 3-0 to Missouri State on Friday night. The Salukis are led by freshman Midfielder Ashley Scesniak and junior Forward Emma Spotak with a goal each.
