Watts Claims Sixth OVC Honor, Named Newcomer of the Week

Brooke Lynn Watts was named the OVC Newcomer of the Week for the week of Sept. 27

For the fourth time this season, Brooke Lynn Watts has been named the OVC Newcomer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 27.

Watts led the Racers offensively in the sweep of Eastern Illinois in the opening weekend of conference play.

Watts put down a team-best 13 kills in each match, adding 13 digs and two assists on the weekend.

She is the eighth OVC Player of the Week recipient in 2021 for the Racers, having also been named OVC Offensive twice earlier this season.

Watts and the rest of the Racers will head to Morehead State to continue OVC play at Johnson Arena on Friday at 5 p.m. CT and Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.
